Last Sunday, May 28th, The Color Run – Flower Power edition took place. The Sloterpark in Amsterdam was the stage for a colourful and floral event with more than 10,000 visitors, where the international visitor was well represented.

Gerberas in the lead

The Color Run was looking for a colourful and happy flower to enhance the theme Flower Power and found it in the Dutch gerbera. Color Runners could not mis the gerbera during the event. At the entrance the runners were welcomed with a gerbera, the whole area was decorated with gerberas and a gerbera was handed over at the finish. The gerberas were processed in the hair, around arms and legs and in shoelaces. The most creative things were conceived. If you say 'Color Run', you say 'gerbera'!

Coloured by Gerbera provided several on-site activities, but the photo point was favorite. Throughout the day there were people in the queue to stand on stage in front of the gerbera photo wall and make a cheerful picture of themselves. More than 500 pictures were taken and about 1,500 to 2,000 runners are photographed. Afterwards, they received a ticket with the Facebook page of Coloured by Gerbera where all the photos were posted the following day. Since then, people are busy sharing, liking and tagging.

But there was more…

In addition to the entire decoration of the event and the photo point there was a flower stall with fantastic gerbera bouquets. Here you could buy a bouquet with more than 30 colourful gerberas. Also, Color Runners could make beautiful gerbera accessories during a workshop. At the end of the day the 100,000th Color Runner was celebrated, including a large bouquet of gerberas.

During The Color Run, exclusive live stream videos are made from the check-in, start, finish and celebration of the 100,000 Color Runner. These images can be found on the Facebook page and the YouTube Channel of Coloured by Gerbera. Also, there are atmosphere photos made and placed on Facebook and Instagram.
